The 23andMe Research team is responsible for creating, and helping people benefit from, the world’s largest genetic and phenotypic research data set. We believe that behind every data point is a human being, and our responsibility to our research participants is a top priority. The Research Policy and Ethics group addresses a range of issues connected to our ground-breaking research program, including informed consent, research participation, privacy, and data sharing and management to meet business objectives.

We are seeking a research policy manager to support the development, execution, and maintenance of research policies that facilitate innovative research while protecting the interests of our customers, research participants, and the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and execute policy initiatives and programs with multiple stakeholders
  • Draft and edit research policies and related documents
  • Provide consultation on research policy-related questions to multiple groups within the company.
  • Develop training materials and provide training to multiple groups within the company, as needed

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Advanced degree in a biomedical or social science
  • Experience in research policy, bioethics, or management of big data; or demonstrated interest in learning more
  • Critical thinking ability, coupled with a strong moral compass
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Experience managing, organizing and executing projects with multiple stakeholders preferred.
  • Familiarity with human genetics a plus
  • Ability to work from 23andMe's office in Sunnyvale, CA a minimum of three days per week is required

Pay Transparency
23andMe takes a market-based approach to pay, and amounts will vary depending on your geographic location. The salary range reflected here is for a candidate based in the San Francisco Bay Area.  The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
